St. Norbert - Seine River

This is a large ward located in the far south of Winnipeg. The ward boundaries will have significant changes that will take effect for the 2018 civic election. The new ward has lost twelve neighbourhoods to the new Waverley West ward, and has obtained three additional neighbourhoods from the St. Vital ward.

Under its previous boundaries the ward had a population of 67,923 residents, based on 2016 census data. The new ward has a population of 47,765 residents, based on 2016 census data.

Prior to the 2018 election boundaries, all neighbourhoods west of the Red River and south of the Perimeter Highway, in addition to the Fort Richmond, University, Normand Park, and River Park South neighbourhoods, were part of the St. Norbert ward, represented by Councillor Janice Lukes, who was elected in 2014. The Maple Gove Park, Dakota Crossing, and St. Vital Perimeter South neighbourhoods were part of the St. Vital ward, represented by Councillor Brian Mayes, who was elected in 2011 and in 2014. The Bridgewater Lakes, Bridgewater Forest, Bridgewater Centre, Bridgewater Trails, Waverley West B, South Pointe West, South Pointe, Waverley Heights, Fairfield Park, Richmond West, Montcalm, and Agassiz neighbourhoods will now be part of the new Waverley West ward.
