River Heights - Fort Garry

This ward is located in southwest central Winnipeg. The ward boundaries will have some changes that will take effect for the 2018 civic election. The new ward has lost two neighbourhoods south of McGillivray Boulevard and west of Waverley Street to the new Waverley West ward.

Under its previous boundaries the ward had a population of 52,860 residents, based on 2016 census data. The new ward has a population of 50,667 residents, based on 2016 census data.

Prior to the 2018 election boundaries, all neighbourhoods north of McGillivray Boulevard and east of Waverley Street were part of the River Heights – Fort Garry ward, represented by Councillor John Orlikow, who was elected in 2009, 2010, and in 2014. The Linden Ridge and West Fort Garry Industrial neighbourhoods will now be part of the new Waverley West ward.
