Why did you decide to run in the 2018 (Winnipeg Civic Election / School Board Election)?

I ran for election in 2018 because I have loved my time serving as a Winnipeg School Trustee for the past four years and I still have something to offer. I’ve grown in my skills and knowledge of school board governance and built relationships with the school staff, students and families in my Ward over the past four years.

There will be challenges ahead for the next board as we continue to offer more with less resources each year and we participate in the government’s planned review of education in the province.  It is an important time to re-elect experienced trustees who have a track record of standing up for public education and new trustees who have experience as advocates and working or volunteering in ways that enhance and support their local communities.
